We've heard patients on the news talking about how covid19 is much worse than the flu. Perri posted this: My hair hurts with this fever.
“What's happening is inflammation coming from blood vessels in the scalp is flooding the nerves in the hair follicles and causing them to ache,” explains New York City dermatologist Debra Jaliman. “The pain in the follicle is indistinguishable from the strand, so it truly feels like your hair is hurting,” she adds.
Called Ann today to get the details
of her broken hip 'escapade' from last weekend.
She had just gotten off the phone, and
was turning when she found herself on the floor. She yelled for help, but of
course none of the neighbors in her apartment building could hear her through all the heavy doors. Luckily Ann was wearing her alert
necklace, though she can only talk through it via the box in the bedroom. However
it still worked just like it should; when the central processing people got the alert they phoned one of her
contacts, a neighbor with a key, who went in and found Ann on the floor. Now Ann has an aide, Fatoo (sp?) who has moved in to stay with her 24/7. She seems in
reasonable spirits considering, though she says it does hurt a lot.
Last evening I thought I heard a truck out in the Back 40. Sure enough when I went out to soak this morning I saaw that the boat was back.
It's overcast this morning, but not chilly. Now seems a good time to relocate the piles of branches and finish up yesterday's yardwork project.
Then I'll decide what to tackle next today.
No plans to go anywhere, of course, but at least I am all set for when I next need to. A package arrived yesterday from Marilyn with a bunch of (washable) medical masks she must have gotten from Don's office. Between those, the pretty batik one courtesy of Marcie (a helpful pattern for ones I'm going to sew) and the N95 one Tom unearthed I feel as insulated and safe from germs as possible.
