I've been busy sewing strips together and then popping up to Marcie's periodically to cut them into 1.5" pieces. Her Accuquilt has been SUCH a tremendous help! At this point 9 of the 10 colors are ready to turn into H blocks, and I expect to get that last color done today. The really fun part will be when all the H blocks are made; that's when I can start building the true blocks and see the quilt pattern start to come together.
Marcie has just about finished her embroidery quilt - what a masterpiece!!! We all expect it to capture a ribbon at the quilt show, and would not be surprised if it got Best of Show! Watch for pix once it's ready for its close-up!
Now Marcie can devote her attention to this Escher quilt she's also been working on. All of her quilts are works of art, and all involve great precision. I have learned a lot from her.
The plumber was here yesterday, so now I have my sink (and earring!) back. And with new pipes down below it should be easier to address similar problems in the future. Chris sure made it look easy - he wasn't even here that long, though of course the charge was still the same.
Our weather has been glorious, and yesterday afternoon Latina visited our "park" after the long summer hiatus. She didn't do too much running around or exploring, possibly needing to get comfortable around rambunctious Brownie again.
It was a good day - until I got this distressing news from Terry
regarding her granddaughter.
Tatum has been diagnosed with Hodgkin's lymphoma.
She's been at Children's Hospital in Denver for the past week, getting
diagnosed and starting chemo. They are hoping that she'll get released on
Thursday and then be going to Grand Junction for her treatments. It is a
hard trial for all of them, especially Tatum of course. A hopeful fact is
the remission for that cancer in children is around 90%.
