Paul & crew arrived shortly after 9:00, and within the hour both dead palms were down, sawed into pieces and hauled away, and the stumps shaved down below ground level and the depressions filled in. Now there are no more unsightly dead trees poking their ugly heads above the wall, and as a bonus it will be easier mowing back there.
Brownie, of course, supervised the entire production. Pokey was also interested in investigating, but luckily I was able to head her off at the pass.
This showed up in my e-mail today (which, BTW, which is October 21.)
Your order is out for delivery. Estimated delivery date: October 19, 2021
And sure enough, just a few minutes later FedEx dropped off my fabric order.
Tom is having serious back issues this morning. He didn't have any luck getting through to the pain center that had treated him last time, and after 'signing up' for a call back (and waiting an hour for a call that never came) he decided to just do what the doctor had told him back then: if it starts up again, just walk in for a shot. So I postponed Mary and Sassy and drove him over. And guess what?
That doctor doesn't work there any more, and they don't take walk-ins; something about needing to clear it with insurance. So Tom said HE'D pay for the shot - yet they still wouldn't do it.
Guess who is not at all happy?
