Mary has been keeping me updated on the situation with Jack, and sadly today's report doesn't sound good at all. No doubt it is difficult to feel like celebrating this Christmas season, and I hope her faith will be of comfort and help her get through this.
And just to add to her misery she says Kirby is still refusing food (and is back to being lethargic) so he needs to return to the vet today.
Mom e-mailed me this morning that her holiday get-together at the McGillips isn't going to happen this year. Sierra had the flu on Saturday (at Gordon's birthday party) and was running a temp of 104. Kids, of course, bounce back a lot faster than we do - but even if she's feeling better odds are that one of the other 5 kids is incubating the nastiness.
Mom certainly does NOT need to stress her compromised immune system! So far we are still well at this end (and hoping it stays that way!) though neither Tom nor Alex opted for a flu shot. Alex, though young and healthy, is out and about all over the place so he has a multitude of opportunities to be exposed to germs. Tom has his own health issues, though as an adult it's his choice... though I think it's a bad one.
Naturally I'll be unhappy if he brings the flu home and shares it with me...!
