When I got back from my (routine and uneventful) doctor appointment yesterday I had a fair amount of time to sew since Cheryl's car wasn't ready for pick-up from the shop until mid-afternoon. The number in this set of blocks, 49, is daunting.... but as you can see I'm making progress! There are half a dozen completed blocks in that finished pile, and a bunch of outside strips in the stacks well on their way to being ready.
Cheryl and I visited in the afternoon while soaking in the hot tub; that's always fun when I've got company. We thought she might be able to stay for dinner and the night - until she learned that her granddaughter needs her to swing by Albuquerque after all to pick up things they'd had to leave behind after their accident. Cheryl is scheduled to care for Neil at the hot springs in a couple days so she had no time to dawdle.
At least now Cheryl has the stack of saxophone books, along with the roller blades (which I bought years ago at a yard sale but - wisely? - never tried out!) to pass along for Michael & Loretta's kids.
There was no room in her car (she didn't have the van with her this trip) for some of the tables that have been hanging out in the garage for years now, but I'm hoping to send those to Michael & Loretta in February when Elinor & Richard visit during their journey. They will be towing their travel trailer, and (in theory) will have the entire back of their pick-up available to haul stuff back.
Got this great news from Mary yesterday:
Found! Shadow is home after 3 weeks! Thin. No collar. No
injuries.
Celebration time! Tell you the story later.
Big weather change coming here over the next few days. While most folks around the country would laugh, highs in the low 60s are quite wintery for us!
How it's time to head off to the gym.
