The weather rolled in yesterday around the time we would have left for the music festival, and we decided it wouldn't be that much fun to sit outside all day (even under an awning.)  The rain came down steadily most of the day, flooding areas of town and prompting flash flood warnings for the county.  Our street out front was running and the yard quickly filled with countless puddles.  Not sure if everything being so soggy and muddy will help Steve today - or make digging the trench more difficult.  Some work got started for the ditch - "gluing" parts of the piping/laterals together - but Tom and I are still concerned about the project being completed before the next cycle of water comes through.

So instead of listening to music at Arcosanti, we hung out here and Marcie finally got to watch the RBG documentary I had saved.  I enjoyed watching it a second time - and finished binding the t-shirt quilt.  Now it just needs the label sewn on.

I called Mom yesterday, and of course am still quite concerned about her.  Apparently Friday was not such a good day, though she said she was feeling better yesterday.  Seems that a different aide comes each day, which is less than ideal.  There's also somewhat of a communication problem, between their accents and her poor hearing.  I'm hoping that things improve!

It was the usual fun at the Flying Pig Sewcial yesterday afternoon/evening.  I'm glad that Mary has started coming so I'll get to see her on a regular basis; miss her smiling face at Foothills!  Emma's quilt was finished and ready for pick-up, and came out lovely!  Mary taught her granddaughter well.

Between visiting with the ladies (and eating) I finished binding the crib quilt -
which all the ladies loved, of course.

Also won the pig races - twice! - and chose a placemat pattern for my prize.

The weather definitely cooled things down.  I dug out snuggly jammies last night, though I didn't quite go this far.

Tom is supposed to be heading up to Flag tomorrow morning to go grubbing for a few days.  With all the rain it should be good hunting.  Naturally it's a LOT colder up there than here.  He's rendezvous-ing with a friend from Colorado (who might not think it's that cold? <g>) and definitely not looking forward to camping in temps at/below freezing.

At some point I expect to see Alex today.  He flew back from California (his flight was delayed because lightning made it too dangerous for the ground crews to be out on the tarmac) but stayed on the other side of town last night.

Today is Boot Camp, and then later in the afternoon
Patti and I are going to the movies to see A Star is Born.
