Correction to yesterday's entry;
either the news-person misspoke, or I misheard.

So far it's "only" the THIRD-wettest October on record, though being so early in the month we do have plenty of time to move up the score card!

It's the second day of October and this month is already one of wettest on record. In an update at 10 p.m., The National Weather Service said the 2.36" that had fallen Tuesday made it the wettest October day since recordkeeping began.

The measurements for the Phoenix area come from a gauge at Sky Harbor International Airport. The rainfall also ranked as the 8th wettest day ever for Phoenix.
With the arrival of the remnants of Hurricane Rosa starting over the weekend, NWS said 2.68" of rain had fallen for the month--just two days old but already good enough for the third-wettest October month ever.
Much will need to happen to reach the top of the monthly chart, as 1972 holds the record for wettest October on record at 4.40" of rain.
It's not currently raining as I start my day, but as gray as it is outside I don't think anyone would be surprised to have a repeat of yesterday when it rained off and on throughout the day.  What is surprising is that there has been no word about the rest of the irrigation cycle being cancelled - though it wouldn't affect us since we already got our water on Friday.
 The RV spent the night parked across the street since Bennie and Estera have hard-packed gravel outside their house.  Here's hoping there's no repeat of yesterday when Alex tries to move it to go get windshield wipers.

Not sure when he'll start his day and if I'll get to go.  I'm dog-sitting Latina today.

Wondering how much trouble the Busy Bees will have, getting to quilting today.  (I won't be going.)  The news showed a rather large sinkhole at 35th and Cactus has shut down that intersection.
The sinkhole, which is about the size of a small car, has closed the intersection at 35th Avenue and Cactus Road.  This closure will likely remain in place through Wednesday evening. Street Transportation crews are on site assessing the issue to determine next steps for repair. Motorists are advised to avoid this area and to make plans to take an alternate route.

Also planning to skip Book Club tonight.  For the first time <gasp> I haven't read the book (about The Harvey Girls), plus even with a solid night's sleep last night I still don't think I want to attend an evening event.
