Brownie was ecstatic to see Mary this morning, and then arrive at her house.  Though Shadow and Merlin had been warned of his impending arrival, Merlin was on one of the dining room chairs looking none too happy when Brownie came bounding in.  

Brownie sniffed around, well aware that there was a cat somewhere, but even though he was actually quite close he never figured it out.  When we promptly headed out into the backyard, Merlin took full advantage of the opportunity to relocate.

Most of the plants from the patio (that had to be moved temporarily for the painting) were in large pots and are still awaiting some brute-strength to return them to their rightful locations.  These, however, with a couple of the cute little owl pots, had already made their way back.

Mary's house gets a lot of light (there are a lot of windows) so happy plants abound.  I do miss that about this house.

Not all need to be watered....

Mary had just gotten back a couple of quilts from Monica, who worked her usual magic on them, and she brought them outside to show me.  Definitely did not get a very good photo, though. 

 

It was custom quilted, which only enhanced Mary's beautiful applique.

The houses also turned out lovely.

Lunch was absolutely yummy - 

but truly the best part was simply a visit with a friend. 

And, for a change, it was an outing that did not involve medical personnel!
