Irrigation went well - though the water did dribble down here early because the folks up-ditch have a leak in their system. Tom, Alex and I supervised during our two hours, and we definitely got a full complement of water. In fact we got so much that we actually ending up letting the water go 10 or 15 minutes early because it was up against the house foundation, and also within kissing distance of breaching the hot tub pad. We're going to cut back on our watering time by 30 minutes and see how that goes.
One of the things I got at the store this morning was romaine lettuce. Then on the national news tonight found out that the CDC says a "multistate E. coli outbreak is underway, and romaine lettuce is to blame. Thirty-two people are sick, including 13 who were hospitalized."
I'm going to follow their directive and toss what I bought, so it looks I will be going back to the store tomorrow for a different type of lettuce! Won't that be fun the day before Thanksgiving...
Alex fixed the TV connection so now we will be able to watch DVDs. Turns out that Tom had actually set it up correctly in theory, but Alex remembered that particular TV is quirky and needs to be done differently - and of course there was no way Tom could have known that.
