Took Brownie for a walk early last evening, around 7:00, so he was a lucky pooch and ended up having three outings yesterday. Since the sun was still up (we stayed on the shady side of the street) we seemed to be the only ones out and about at that hour - and we certainly didn't run into any 3-headed dogs.
It wasn't that hot out, though it will be warmer today. It's possible we'll try for another walk this evening, depending on how brave I feel.
Today's plan of attack involves a lot of sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming
in preparation for the exterminator tomorrow.
This will be our first bug treatment since the start of the pandemic; I was leery of having an "outsider", who had been out and about interacting with unknowns, tromping through the house. In the beginning no one was exactly sure how contagious it was, or how it was transmitted. Of course when I cancelled way back then I never imagined we'd be isolating for months and months and months!
Turns out that we'll be seeing a new technician, Keyven; when I made the appointment I learned that our regular guy of many years, Ken, had recently retired after suffering a small stroke.
Today's "smile"...
**********
I've made substantial progress with sweeping (collected considerable clumps of Brownie's hair from underneath/behind furniture) and mopping. (Even did some dusting first!)
Rod arrived around 10 to fix the pool pump, when I learned "we have a problem." As has often been the case with this old house, whoever installed the system did so in such a way that "you can't get there from here."
Tom and Rod discussed the situation, and it will need major teardown to be able to get at the relevant parts - which, of course, will add considerably to the bill.
Since he needs other things to complete the work
he will be back Monday to do that.
Think I'll take a break, have some breakfast,
and play on the computer for a while.
