During dinner last night we spied a doe in the backyard having her dinner.
Not too surprisingly Brownie was most interested,
though of course I didn't let him out for further investigation.
Forgot to mention that yesterday, as we were walking back to the house, a vehicle with a Hawaii license plate was leaving. Don't see those too often!
Did get to say hi to Eddie this morning,
and he agreed that his camper is "just ducky".
Haven't seen many post-worthy bumper stickers this summer,
though this one makes the cut.
When Brownie and I were heading up to soak this morning, camp host Michael was going by in the golf cart and he offered us a ride up. Brownie was a well-behaved passenger, and seemed to enjoy the experience of the very open "window".
Brownie seems to take his job on the greeting committee seriously.
Here he is giving Dana a warm welcome.
Though I started out in the lower Apple Pool, this morning I did venture into the upper one for a bit. When I got too warm (didn't take long) I was back in the lower one, but never really cooled off. Jerry was up on a rock, also trying to cool off -
but soon migrated back to the lower pool.
Max didn't stay up there very long either,
and was soon relaxing (and posing) under the waterfall.
On our walk back we were almost home when Brownie "noticed" a couple of does alongside the road. He, of course, was more than willing <g> to "play" with them, though they declined his offer and left in somewhat of a hurry.
Popped over to the Welcome Center to do some "window shopping", and got to talk with Marla. I am hoping to attend her raptor sessions at Science Camp again this year. However, it turns out that Terry and Michael may actually take me up on my offer to watch 2-year-old Ivy tomorrow (Loretta has to work) so they can continue with the roofing. Ivy is apparently QUITE an active handful, so my offer was to try it for one day and see how that goes.
Hilda's house addition is Michael's first solo project, so Richard came by today for a consultation on the best way to do the weird angles on the roof.
I'm on Neil and Hilda duty this morning.
