Time to get showered and dressed and then head off to BGHS for a day of 'teaching' (?) algebra. Since the teacher knew early in the week she'd be out (and had no idea if her sub would be math-literate) the kids will most likely be doing an assignment at their desks and all I'll be doing is baby-sitting, which is pretty boring. Unless Fidel Castro is is one of my classes, Lisa!
Long (funny) story short. When Lisa was in high school, a student who had graduated the year before came back to visit. When the sub counted heads and realized that there was one more warm body than names on the roster, she tried mightily to get to the bottom of the situation. Of course the kids were not the least bit helpful - no surprise there!
I don't remember all the details, but she passed around a sign-in sheet and the 'new' student wrote his name as Fidel Castro. The beleagured sub didn't recognize that name (!) and trying to match up a student with the name ("Bueller? Bueller?") and straighten out the mess took up most of the class period.
